Catriona Logan


Catriona was born and educated in Essex before taking a degree in Art History at UEA in Norwich. Her musical training was undertaken at Trinity College of Music and the Royal Northern College of Music from which she graduated with distinction. She began her professional life as an opera singer with the chorus of Scottish Opera and was the recipient of the John D Scott Award for young soloists when she left the company to pursue her freelance solo career. Since then she has returned on a regular basis to Scottish Opera and has worked with them on a variety of roles including Rosina (Barber of Seville), Waltraute (Valkyrie), Salome (Salome) and Ines (Ines de Castro). She has performed widely elsewhere in the UK adding other roles such as Cio Cio San (Madam Butterfly), Senta (Flying Dutchman) and Leonora (Il Trovatore) to her repertoire. She sings regularly as a recitalist and in oratorio and has appeared in venues such as the Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Purcell Room, St John’s Smith Square and the Royal Opera House. Throughout her career, Catriona has been fortunate enough to benefit from tuition and advice from internationally renowned singers including Birgit Nilsson, Brigitte Fassbaender, Rosalind Plowright, Anthony Rolfe Johnson and Elena Obraztsova. Catriona also has an established reputation as a singing teacher in the Essex area. She currently teaches at New Hall School in Chelmsford and runs the vocal consultancy for ‘Totally Vocal’ which provides vocal tuition and advice for individuals and groups across a broad range of age and ability. She has studied workshop techniques with Mary King (Operatunity) at the Knack at ENO and is a member of AOTOS and the ISM.



Andrew Fardell


Andrew Fardell studied English at the University of Kent at Canterbury where he was the winner of an instrumental award enabling him to study with Ronald Moore and Julian Farrell. On graduating Andrew joined the postgraduate course at the Royal Academy of Music where his principal teachers were John Davies and Antony Pay. As a conductor Andrew has worked with orchestras and choirs throughout the United Kingdom, including the Salomon Orchestra, the Britten Sinfonia, the orchestras of Southampton and Kent Universities, the Oxford Sinfonia, Guernsey Camerata, the Dorset Youth Orchestra, the Essex Youth Orchestra, the Singers of London, the Waltham Singers and the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra. In addition to work with adults, Andrew is well known for his work with primary-aged children and he is much in demand to direct music festivals and workshops. Andrew is Director of Music at New Hall School in Chelmsford. He has conducted school musicians in St Peter’s in Rome, the Duomo in Florence, St Marks in Venice and Westminster Cathedral. Other work has included an appearance at London Fashion Week, live performances with Andrea Bocelli on BBC television, and a recording of sacred music for Deutsche Grammophon.



Patrick Dunn


Patrick Dunn graduated in Chemistry from the University of London in 1983 and later studied piano and harmony privately with Kenneth van Barthold in London. He spent one year at Trinity College of Music, London as a post-graduate studying accompaniment, harpsichord and composition. He obtained the piano performance diploma (L.G.S.M.) from the Guildhall School of Music in 1992. In 1992 he moved to Paris and studied piano, accompaniment and conducting at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris. He remained in Paris for three years during which time he worked with some of the leading music groups and singers in France, including Les Arts Florissants and A Sei Voce. He worked as repetiteur and accompanist for the Abbaye de Royaumont in their production of Britten's "Rape of Lucretia" and also with a number of Festivals including the Festival des Arcs, the Festival de Saint Denis and the Festival du Château de Pimpéan. Whilst in Paris he accompanied vocal classes at the Conservatiore National Supérieur de Musique de Paris (CNSMP) and at the Conservatoire of the 16th Arrondissement (Francis Poulenc). In 1996, he was appointed repetiteur at Scottish Opera in Glasgow, where he has also worked as vocal coach/repetiteur at the Opera School of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. He returned to London in 1997 and continued to work with some leading singing teachers, singers, various choral societies, chamber choirs, chamber groups and opera companies.
